Course on environmentally conscious design for AMBIT Cluster, one of Spain’s leading innovation ecosystems for the Habitat sector

The pursuit of improved environmental performance has become a key driver in the development of new products within the furniture and habitat sectors. More and more companies are seeking to integrate environmental criteria into their design processes in order to meet evolving regulatory requirements, reduce environmental impacts, and respond to a market that is increasingly conscious and demanding.

In this context, we are pleased to organize the course “Product Design with Environmental Criteria”, a training initiative promoted by AMBIT Cluster and aimed at professionals and companies interested in integrating ecodesign and sustainability into their innovation processes.

The course will provide a practical introduction to methodologies and tools for incorporating environmental criteria from the earliest stages of product development, helping organizations move towards more circular, efficient, and future-oriented business models.

A Life Cycle Approach

Throughout the course, participants will explore key concepts such as:

  • Introduction to ecodesign and life cycle thinking.

  • Identification of environmental impacts associated with products.

  • Strategies to reduce material use, waste generation, and resource consumption.

  • Environmental assessment tools applied to product design.

  • Current trends and regulatory frameworks related to sustainability and the circular economy.

Integrating environmental criteria into product design not only helps reduce impacts, but also creates new opportunities for innovation and differentiation, increasing the added value of products and strengthening companies’ competitive positioning.

Training Designed for Professionals and Companies

The course is especially aimed at professionals working in product design, R&D, engineering, sustainability, and innovation, as well as companies interested in improving the environmental performance of their products and processes.

Through this initiative, we support AMBIT Cluster’s commitment to knowledge transfer and specialized training as key tools for accelerating the transition towards production and consumption models with a more positive environmental impact.
