Why?
As sustainability consultants, we collaborate with organizations that are ready to make meaningful changes toward more responsible business models. Nanimarquina, a brand known for its commitment to artisanal weaving and natural fibers, identified the need to take its sustainability efforts further by embracing a circular approach and integrating environmental and social responsibility across all levels of the company.
Since 2022, we have been supporting Nanimarquina in this transformation, helping them address growing sustainability challenges and align their operations with a long-term regenerative vision. Our partnership reflects a shared understanding that today’s most relevant brands are those capable of evolving their practices while staying true to their values.
What?
Since 2022, we have been working as Nanimarquina’s Sustainability Department, supporting the company’s transition toward circularity and strengthening their ESG strategy across the board. Our collaboration has encompassed both strategic and operational work, always with a systems-thinking perspective.
Key initiatives include:
• Environmental assessments at both product and corporate levels, including LCAs of four product categories.
• Preparation of self-declared Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), now available on their website.
• A digital product passport pilot to enhance traceability and transparency.
• Creation of a recycling guide to help customers from all over the world manage their rugs responsibly at the end of life.
• Improvements to packaging design to reduce environmental impact.
• Strategic exploration of future secondary markets to extend the value and lifespan of their products.
• Internal training sessions to empower teams across departments with knowledge of sustainability challenges and how Nanimarquina is addressing them.
One of the most important milestones of this journey is the publication of the 2024 ESG Report, which transparently outlines the company’s progress and long-term vision.
HOW?
Our work with Nanimarquina is built on deep integration. As external consultants embedded in their day-to-day operations, we bring strategic guidance and hands-on implementation to sustainability efforts that span product development, supply chain, packaging, and communication.
Rather than offering isolated deliverables, we co-design systems and tools that ensure long-term impact: from the technical rigor of LCAs and traceability pilots to the accessibility of customer-facing materials like recycling guides. Our support also includes internal engagement, helping different departments connect sustainability with their specific roles and decisions.
