Why?
The marble and granite industries generate large amounts of waste, creating significant management challenges. Urban furniture projects can help address this problem.
What?
Relaja is a modular urban furniture system that gives new value to stone waste sourced from the very locations where it will be installed, promoting local economies. Its simple production process makes it an ideal tool for job training for people at risk of social exclusion.
Relaja is a modular urban furniture system that transforms local stone waste into durable elements, supporting circular economy and local employment.
HOW?
The system is based on modules made from stone remnants derived from standard production processes. The slabs are simply placed inside a steel cage, avoiding adhesives, resulting in a durable, aesthetically appealing, and cost-effective element. The Relaja system is produced in workshop schools where young people at risk of social exclusion are trained in various trades.
